About CZ DUO

This model was designed by an firearm designer Frantisek Dusek. Duo pistol was produced from 1937 until the end of the World War 2 in 1945. It was popular mainly among German officers of this period, who either purchased them privately or were issued them when Czechoslovakia was invaded by the Nazis in 1938. Like all CZ products, DUO was a quality designed and did the job it was designed for very well. Deactivated Czech Duo 6.35mm Pocket Pistol offers really good conditions of usage and therefore was so popular in its period. This handgun has a wide variety of specific features that provides to an user a reliable option. Dusek designed this model very clever because DUO offered an accuracy firing and was popular not only among German officers but also among plenty of Czech policeman, soldiers and so on. Some of the DUOs that were sold in Germany were marked with the distributor’s name, Eblen. Some pistols from the 1939/40 period were marked JAGA on the slide and grips, probably also because of the sale in Germany. When designer Dusek refused to cooperate with the Nazis during World War II, they took over his factory and proceeded to produce over 110 000 DUO pistols. Model DUO was also quite popular among Germans and was sold to the public at large through various sporting goods stores. After the war, under the Soviets, production of the DUO continued just until 1948 when the factory was nationalized. After nationalization, production was moved to Ceska Zbrojovka in Uhersky Brod and the pistol was marked “Z” and carried the old trademark of Praga Zbrojovka and  Czechoslovak Zbrojovka. From the first, Dusek’s pistols were very well made.
